Another challenge

We are facing a new challenge with Bessie this week. She was outside last Wednesday and did a full body shake and flopped on her side. I helped her up and she shook again and the same thing happened. Bessie has been experiencing muscle spasms in her right shoulder so i thought that was the problem. On Thursday we noticed a head tilt and her eyebrows twitching. We have already experienced canine idiopathic vestibular syndrome 3 times with our last senior dog. It is better known as old dizzy dog disease. We are so lucky that Bessie has not experienced any nausea. She is such a tough little girl. We have seen signs of improvement. She is so excited when she is outside that she runs around the yard. She still has a head tilt and a drunk walk but her spirit is strong.

  1. Awwww that must have been quite scary. At least you have experience dealing with it.

I’m just glad that she’s rebounding and doing pretty good. What a girl!

Bessie, you have the heart of a warrior princess. Keep on fighting, loving and inspiring!

  2. BESSIE!!!!! SO GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU AND, ESPECIALLY, TO SEE THAT BEAUTIFUL PHOTO OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL SELF!!!!

Yeah, sounds like she has that vestibular thing. Did the Vet prescribe a thing. Can’t remember what my dogs took for it. Maybe it was a mild sedative, or maybe prednisone??? Can’t remember what it was.

Hope she gets over this quickly. Having a drunk, dizzy tripawd trying to stay mobile can be a challenge!

Keep us posted AND post more pictures of our our Bessie! We.love her!❤❤❤

    Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
